Creator Scout Policies

1Data We Store

When you connect your Instagram professional account via Instagram Business Login, we store the following data (fetched under the instagram_business_basic and instagram_business_manage_insights OAuth permissions):

• Account identity — Instagram user ID, username, follower count, profile picture URL
• Recent posts — up to 20 most recent posts (caption, media type, thumbnail URL, likes, comments)
• Per-post performance — reach, impressions, saves, shares, views, profile visits, new follows per post; Reel average watch time
• Story performance — reach, replies, taps, exits, completion rate (stories posted after connect only)
• Follower & engaged-audience demographics — aggregated age, gender, top cities and top countries (percentages only)
• Paid-partnership tags — brand handles from posts carrying Instagram’s branded-content tag
• OAuth access token — long-lived Meta token, stored encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM), never shared with third parties, used only by our background refresh job

If you verified via the bio-code path instead of OAuth

Some creators verify Instagram ownership by pasting a one-time CS-XXXXXX code in their bio (an alternate path while Meta app approval is pending). In this case we store only: username, follower count, average likes/comments and calculated engagement rate from the 12 most recent public posts, and — if you self-report them from your profile settings — audience demographics (labelled as self-reported). No OAuth token is issued or stored. The one-time code is retained for 15 minutes and discarded after verification.

3What Happens After Deletion

Once a deletion request is received or a disconnect is triggered:

• All Instagram data stored by Creator Scout will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days — this covers your account identity, OAuth access token, cached recent posts and their per-post insights, story performance snapshots, follower and engaged-audience demographics, paid-partnership tag history, and (for bio-code-verified accounts) the pending one-time code and any self-reported demographics you entered.
• Your Creator Scout profile will no longer display Instagram-verified statistics. You can still use Creator Scout with manually entered stats.
• A confirmation email will be sent to the email address on your Creator Scout account once deletion is complete.
• Deletion of Instagram data does not delete your Creator Scout account. To delete your entire account, contact contact@creatorscout.in.

4Automatic Deletion via Meta

When you remove Creator Scout from your connected Instagram apps, Meta sends an automatic data deletion request to our servers. We process these requests automatically — no manual action is needed on your part.

You can verify the status of an automatic deletion request by emailing contact@creatorscout.in with your Instagram username.

6YouTube Data Deletion

This page covers Instagram data deletion. If you have connected your YouTube channel to Creator Scout, you can delete your YouTube data by disconnecting it from your Creator Scout account settings (Settings → YouTube → Disconnect). All YouTube analytics and channel data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

You can also revoke Creator Scout’s access to your YouTube account directly from your Google account permissions page.
